Have you missed your Thanksgiving morning 5Ks the past couple years? Well, good news: SOME 20th Annual Thanksgiving Day Trot for Hunger 5K is back in person this year!
The race begins at Freedom Plaza and is the largest DC turkey trot, so you’ll truly feel the energy surrounding you on race day! Beyond running with your community, though, what makes this race so special is the cause. SOME, aka So Others Might Eat, is a local nonprofit that provides support to those in the area who are homeless and/or struggling with mental illness or aging without family support. They provide food and shelter, healthcare, social services, and job training to help people get back on their feet. Living in an area where there are 7,000 homeless adults and children, it’s important to provide support where we can.
