Delight in a Virtual Nutcracker Experience with the Washington Ballet

  |     |   Uncategorized

Though the usual performance will not be held in-person this year in D.C., you can still experience the joy of the Nutcracker tradition this year. Have you ever wanted to know more about the story behind The Washington Ballet’s charming local version of the Nutcracker story? It’s set in Georgetown, and features historic characters like George Washington, Frederick Douglass, John Paul Jones, and Harriett Tubman. Learn more in a virtual celebration that you can watch from your apartment at Yale West.

Stream The Nutcracker Virtual Experience on any device, right from The Washington Ballet’s YouTube channel on Sunday, December 6 at 3 p.m., where you can tune into the holiday magic. You’ll see a 40 minute streaming experience, where you’ll find a mix of guest performances and get the behind-the-scenes scoop about bringing The Nutcracker to life. Get a glimpse of the Sugarplum Fairy, who will probably be dancing around downtown. There will be plenty of sparkling costumes, soaring music, and clever local touches to warm your spirit this December.

So, pour yourself a cup of tea, and celebrate the holidays in D.C.! If you’re dancing around your home after the show, check out TWB’s online ballet classes for adults that you can do from home. Check the website for more content later in December, and dream of seeing the Nutcracker back at The Warner Theatre another year!
